History: (You asked for detail …) Astrid was born in Osaka, Japan at the height of her Fathers Success. Yukio Sugianto was a powerful businessman, possibly the most powerful in Osaka and a serious force to be reckoned with in Japan. Yukio was disappointed he had seeded a daughter and not a son to carry on his empire but his wife, his weakness, Marguerite, showed him that women were a force to be reckoned with.
Yukio, like many Japanese husbands at the dawn of the new millennium, believed that wives were for the home, the tea ceremony’s and of course, the bedroom. But his French wife convinced him that whilst those things might be true for wives, none of them would happen if their daughter was not given the best of everything. It’s funny how many battles could be won whilst being penetrated by a man’s pride.
So, despite the fact that Astrid, or Yumi as he called her, was not his son, she was enrolled into the finest schools and when not studying she was being instructed in piano, violin, calligraphy and ballet, the latter a conviction by her Mother, who had also studied this disciplinary art. Under loving guidance and expert tutelage she flourished, as was expected of her and was never known to succumb to tantrums or begging.
Then at fourteen, her World changed. Returning from her ballet class with great excitement as she had been approved to learn Pointe (toe shoes), something she was fiercely proud of as she was the oldest in her class to graduate from demi-pointe. Naturally wanting to share this success with her parents she slammed into an emotional wall as she entered their living quarters. Her Mother had been hospitalised, a brutal attack by a werewolf.
With their Matriarch’s life hanging in the balance, Yukio sought her revenge. Murder or not the creature, nay, the abomination that harmed his wife would not breathe for any day longer than it took to track him down. Yet it was Astrid who would find the attacker first. Her childhood friend, Taka, who had been her shadow since their first day at school, begged to speak with her about an urgent matter, but on one condition, her Father must not know. For Yukio, like many powerful men in Japan and the World, ruled with an iron fist and despite or perhaps because of the secrecy Yukio sought his wife’s attacker with, many people knew.
Astrid’s loyalties were torn for she was placed on house arrest immediately after that ballet class. But she came to the conclusion that Taka deserved at least a hearing to, for a matter clearly troubled her deeply that she should call on Astrid in the midst of this family crisis. Under a Japanese Maple, sins were confessed. Taka it seems was a werewolf, she had been since she was ten years old, infected by lycanthropy and not leukaemia as was told when she disappeared from class for an entire month and then for a few days each month after. Taka had discovered she was pregnant, a fact that would bring immense shame to her family and, not knowing what else to do she sought counsel in the only other woman she could trust. Her best friends Mother.
A lesser wolf like Taka was not up to the conversation. She knew that she would lose the baby in her womb due to her monthly changings but the morning sickness was beginning to raise questions. Marguerite had spoken well and offered good advice Taka said, but her emotions had gotten the better of her. She shifted on the kitchen floor and Marguerite having never seen such a thing, reacted badly. The chase was on so to speak and Taka begged Astrid’s forgiveness for it was she who turned Marguerite.
Naturally this placed Astrid in a bit of a pickle. Her Father, whom she respected more than any other man was searching for her Mother’s attacker, to kill them. By her own rights Astrid should be so consumed with rage that she could justifiably lash out at the attacker now. But Astrid had her Mother’s open mindedness with her Father’s brains. A very dangerous combination. Astrid knew that her Mother was healing faster by the moment and would most likely be home at the end of the week. A truly remarkable feat for if she was attacked by another human with a knife or gun it just would not have been possible. Her Mother was coming back to her, faster and stronger than ever.
So she did not kill her best friend. She did what any sane person would have done. She employed her. Japan was a cut throat world, no one knew that more than she and given the risks people were willing to take to rise in society Astrid did not think a body guard was a terrible idea. Taka had been trained in all sorts of interesting manoeuvres by her pack and the deal was made. Astrid slipped quietly back into her bedroom, quite easily given that her Father’s grief could be heard throughout the house and had the best nights sleep she’d had all week. She knew that Taka would not be found for her pack protected her, just like they would her Mother.
Marguerite did return by the end of the week as Astrid had hoped and held no grudge against Taka. She instead thought it more advisable to take the wayward girl under her wing and teach her that if she could not control certain urges than at the very least she should do what a Lady would do. Cover them up. But whilst Marguerite came into power, Yukio’s began to slip. He never fully accepted that his wife was now a lycan and he fell in both demeanour and health. His business sliding he spent more time at the office than ever before and stopped sharing a bed with his wife.
When she was sixteen, Astrid attended her Father’s funeral. He worked himself to death, something not entirely unheard of. But the truth that Astrid was not to know is that he worked himself to the end of Marguerite’s patience where he met the end of his heart medication. The poison filled his blood quickly and his heart gave way in his wife’s arms, ironic considering his heart left her two years ago.
But with their financial status no longer at risk of plummeting any further Marguerite and Astrid enjoyed their cosy life. Astrid completed her high school studies and entered University, majoring in Business as well as attending Chef classes. A busy girl her music and calligraphy lessons became a thing of the past and she played only for pleasure, keeping only her ballet lessons so both her mind and body would remain sharp.
Whilst Astrid rose academically however, Marguerite rose in the pack. A strong woman in humanity, she took to lycanthropy like a wolf to well, blood and soon found herself sitting prettily as Freki. With great respect for the Ulfric she was content to remain there but the Geri held a different viewpoint. Marguerite missed Astrid’s University Graduation. She had died in battle.
Two years had passed and Astrid could now fall to sleep at night peacefully. She had sought her own power, inheriting everything from her Mother and worked hard in a popular Japanese restaurant as Head Chef. But Astrid grew bored. Life as she knew it had become abstract and nothing she touched could bring her focus into frame. So she did what any healthy, red blooded girl would do when truly bored out of her brain and in need of a boost. She found a hobby.
Pole dancing opened a whole new world for Astrid. A little like gym class she learnt the arts of pole dancing from the ground up, having a substantial head start from her two decades of ballet training. Whilst garnishing meals she would often smirk to herself as she tried to remember that latest move her instructor taught her and amused herself with what her co-workers would think if they found out. She had a dirty little secret and was thus able to find out that everyone, man and woman, held a fantasy in his or her head they shared with very few people.
An idea was struck. Quitting her job at that popular restaurant she struck out on her own, opening a sushi bar by the water. A fantastic hit and the public craved it. But why would a sushi bar be so popular in the heart of Japan when there were a million others already like it? Because there weren’t a million others like it. Sure there were some customers to be seen from the front windows at most times, who doesn’t like sushi? But the real money was made upstairs. Upstairs in Sei-Teki Kincho.
Sei-Teki Kincho (sexual tension) was a sushi restaurant like no other. Yes there was raw fish, avocado and rice aplenty, but the err … tableware was not as traditional. She hired several of the wolf pack as she had grown to know many over the years as well as any human fine enough to her eyes. And she had very fussy eyes. These were her stars, her sei-teki meshi-tsu’kai … or sexual servants to you and me. They would lie on a thin mattress and be covered in sushi, which the consumers would eat at their own will. Of course soon she found other lycans and even vampires as her customers, taking a little more than the sushi they paid for.
Now at the age of twenty five, Astrid felt it was time to soar and left the restaurant in the trusty hands of her dearest companion, Taka as a franchise. She only asked that she bring the very best sei-teki meshi-tsu’kai, a blonde American by the name of Pippa with her who would be promoted to Personal Assistant. The deal was struck and now all Astrid had to do was pack. Well, maybe not all. She had formed a unique bond with the local lycans over the years, they protected her and she did what she could for them, including house and employ any and all who needed it. There was more than one reason why she wanted to promote Pippa, not only was that girl a fine specimen of the female form but she also happened to be a weretiger and Astrid had grown accustomed to having lycans around her.
A little research was made and Astrid and Pippa boarded a plane, destination Ajoia. She purchased two property’s, one residential and the other commercial. A store which will open in a few weeks time to offer the consumers Sushi … and a whole lot more.
